Warm up a pan on medium-low and let the butter melt, spreading it all around.

Lay bread slices in the pan. Slather one side of each slice with Thousand Island dressing.

Put Swiss cheese on one slice of bread, then pile corned beef on top. Spread sauerkraut over the other bread slice.

When cheese has melted, carefully press the bread slices together using a spatula.

Flip and cook each side until golden and crisp, gently pressing down. Slice it up and eat while warm.
