Steak Dinner Soup (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - Four rashers of bacon, chopped into small pieces.
02 - One pound (450 grams) of thin-sliced beef sirloin or steak.
03 - One small onion, finely chopped.
04 - Two cloves of garlic, crushed or minced.
05 - One tablespoon of olive oil, if you need extra.
06 - One green bell pepper, chopped small.
07 - One red bell pepper, chopped small too.
08 - Three cups of beef stock or broth.
09 - A cup of heavy cream, or you could go with half-and-half.
10 - Two tablespoons of regular all-purpose flour.
11 - One teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce.
12 - A half teaspoon of smoky paprika.
13 - Give it a pinch of salt and a sprinkle of pepper to taste.
14 - For the cheesy bread!
15 - Four slices of thick, crusty bread.
16 - A cup of grated provolone or mozzarella cheese.
17 - Two tablespoons of softened, unsalted butter.

# Instructions:

01 - Fry the bacon until it’s nice and crispy, then take it out. Sear the beef in the bacon fat, then pull it out as well.
02 - Toss the chopped onion, peppers, and garlic into the same pot. Cook until they’re soft.
03 - Sprinkle the flour over the cooked veggies and stir it around. Pour the broth in, add your spices, and let it bubble away for 10 minutes.
04 - Pour in the cream and add the cooked bacon and beef back to the pot. Let it simmer for another 5 minutes.
05 - Spread butter on those bread slices, heap them with shredded cheese, and broil until gooey and golden.

# Notes:

01 - Ground beef works too if you’re in a hurry.
02 - Feel free to throw in mushrooms or some spicy jalapeños.
03 - You can make it thicker with a cornstarch-water mix.
