Warm Apple Bread Pudding (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 pound and 3/4 of Gala apples.
02 - 1 cup of water.
03 - A teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
04 - About 1/2 a cup of brown sugar.
05 - 4 or 6 tablespoons of butter.
06 - A dozen ounces of a French baguette.
07 - 2 teaspoons of pie spice for apple flavor.
08 - 2 1/4 cups of whole milk.
09 - A teaspoon of vanilla extract.
10 - 4 tablespoons of melted unsalted butter.
11 - 5 big eggs.
12 - 2 1/2 tablespoons of flour for all uses.
13 - Another 3/4 cup of brown sugar.
14 - 1 teaspoon of spice mix for apple desserts.

# Instructions:

01 - Chop the baguette into cubes, around 1/2-inch. Leave these uncovered for a day to dry, or pop in a 200°F oven for 90-120 minutes to speed it up.
02 - Toss cut-up apples with sugar, spices, and some flour. Cook gently in water and butter until they're soft. Drain, keeping the liquid for later.
03 - Combine eggs, milk, melted butter, vanilla, brown sugar, and spices in a big mixing bowl. Whisk until smooth.
04 - Grease a 9x13 dish. Add the bread cubes in with the apple mix spread evenly on top. Pour the custard on, pressing down the bread so it soaks up the liquid.
05 - Cook uncovered at 375°F for 30 mins, then cover with foil and bake 15-20 mins more. Drizzle the saved apple juices on once done.
06 - Let it sit for 10 minutes before digging in. Goes great warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream if you'd like.

# Notes:

01 - You can mix up your own apple pie spice using allspice, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
02 - Drying out the bread is a must for the right texture.
03 - The apple liquid you save makes it extra moist and tasty.
