In a large mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix and quick-cooking oats. Add the melted butter into the mixture and stir until crumbly.

Take half of the crumb mixture and firmly press it into the base of the prepared baking dish to form the crust.

In a small bowl, mix the strawberry preserves and water until smooth. Gently spread this mixture over the crust in the baking dish.

Evenly sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture over the strawberry layer and press it down slightly.
