Sausage Gravy Tater Casserole (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Gravy Base

01 - 1 lb gluten-free breakfast sausage
02 - 1 cup riced cauliflower (optional)
03 - 3 tablespoons gluten-free flour blend
04 - 2½ cups milk (any variety)
05 - 1 teaspoon homemade seasoned salt
06 - 1-2 teaspoons fresh ground black pepper

→ Topping

07 - 1 (30 oz) bag frozen tater tots
08 - Chopped green onions (optional)
09 - Extra black pepper to taste

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven according to tater tot package directions (usually 425°F).
02 - Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add sausage and cauliflower, breaking the meat into small pieces. Cook until no pink remains, about 5-7 minutes.
03 - Reduce heat to medium, sprinkle flour over the meat, and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Slowly add milk while whisking continuously to prevent lumps. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.
04 - Remove skillet from heat and arrange tater tots in a circular pattern on top.
05 - Bake in the oven according to tater tot package time until golden brown.
06 - Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with green onions if desired.

01 - Use room temperature milk for the smoothest gravy.
02 - Do not over-thicken the gravy before baking.
03 - It is normal for some tater tots to sink into the casserole.
