01 -
In a small bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle yeast over the top and let sit for 10 minutes until foamy.
02 -
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add yeast mixture, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until a soft dough forms.
03 -
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
04 -
Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
05 -
In a medium bowl, mix together farmer’s cheese, sour cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
06 -
Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a large rectangle (about 30x45 cm). Spread the cheese filling evenly over the dough. Roll the dough into a log, starting from the long side.
07 -
Cut the log into 12 equal pieces and place them cut side up on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
08 -
Cover the rolls with a towel and let rise for another 30 minutes.
09 -
Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
10 -
Let the rolls cool slightly before serving. Optionally, drizzle with a simple glaze made of powdered sugar and milk.
