01 - 1 pound lean ground beef
02 - 5 garlic cloves, minced
03 - 1/3 cup brown sugar
04 - 1/4 cup beef broth
05 - 1/3 cup soy sauce (use low sodium if preferred)
06 - 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
07 - 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
08 - 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
09 - Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
10 - 10 ounces linguine or other long pasta like spaghetti
11 - 1 tablespoon cornstarch
12 - 2 tablespoons water
13 - 4 green onions, sliced

# Instructions:

01 - Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add linguine and cook it as per the package directions until al dente. Drain the pasta and set aside.
02 - Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the ground beef until fully browned, breaking it into smaller pieces while cooking. Drain the excess fat and reduce heat slightly.
03 - Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, ginger, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Combine thoroughly.
04 - Mix cornstarch with water in a small bowl until smooth. Gradually stir this mixture into the skillet and let the sauce simmer for a few minutes until it thickens.
05 - Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing it until the noodles are evenly coated in sauce. Let it cook together for a couple of minutes for the flavors to infuse.
