Hot Fudge Pudding Cake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 cup sugar
02 - ½ cup cocoa powder
03 - 1 cup all-purpose flour
04 - 2 teaspoons baking powder
05 - ¼ teaspoon salt
06 - ½ cup milk
07 - 4 tablespoons butter, melted
08 - 1 large egg yolk
09 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
10 - ½ cup semisweet chocolate chips
11 - 1 cup boiling water

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch baking dish or a similar-sized casserole dish.
02 - In a large mixing bowl, combine sugar, cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt.
03 - Add milk, melted butter, egg yolk, and vanilla extract to the bowl and stir until well combined.
04 - Gently fold in the semisweet chocolate chips.
05 - Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish. Do not stir.
06 - Carefully pour the boiling water over the batter (do not stir). The water will create the fudge sauce on the bottom.
07 - Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is set and the cake looks slightly cracked. The pudding should still be soft underneath the crust.
08 - Let the cake cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve warm, optionally with ice cream or whipped cream.

# Notes:

01 - This cake is best served warm and is delicious with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream on top.
02 - The cake forms a fudgy sauce on the bottom as it bakes, making it unique from other cakes.
03 - For an extra rich flavor, you can use dark chocolate chips instead of semisweet.
