01 -
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper or grease it lightly.
02 -
In a large pan over medium heat, cook the ground beef, diced onion, and crushed garlic until the beef is browned and no pink remains. Drain any excess fat.
03 -
Stir in the taco mix and 1/2 cup water. Simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
04 -
Mix the grated cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses into the cooled beef mixture until evenly combined.
05 -
Quickly warm the tortillas to prevent them from cracking during assembly.
06 -
Place approximately 1/2 cup of the beef and cheese mixture in the center of each tortilla. Fold in the sides and tightly roll each into a burrito shape.
07 -
Place the rolled wraps seam-side down on the prepared baking tray. Brush each wrap generously with melted butter or cooking oil.
08 -
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, flipping once halfway, until the wraps are golden and crunchy.
09 -
Serve the wraps hot with sour cream, salsa, and fresh chopped cilantro as optional toppings.
