Crispy Funnel Cake with Chocolate (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Funnel Cake Batter

01 - 2 cups all-purpose flour
02 - 1 teaspoon baking powder
03 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
04 - 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
05 - 2 large eggs
06 - 1 1/2 cups whole milk
07 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
08 - Vegetable oil for frying

→ Toppings

09 - 1/2 cup powdered sugar
10 - 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chunks
11 - 2 tablespoons heavy cream or milk

# Instructions:

01 - In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar.
02 - In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract together until smooth.
03 - Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, mixing until a smooth batter forms.
04 - Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a large, deep skillet or pot over medium-high heat until the oil reaches 350°F.
05 - Pour the batter into a funnel or squeeze bottle. Hold the funnel or bottle over the hot oil and carefully drizzle the batter in a swirling, circular pattern. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Use tongs to carefully flip the funnel cake halfway through.
06 - Remove the funnel cake from the oil and drain on paper towels. Once drained, sprinkle the funnel cake generously with powdered sugar.
07 - In a small saucepan, heat the chocolate chips and heavy cream (or milk) over low heat, stirring until smooth and melted.
08 - Drizzle the warm chocolate sauce over the powdered sugar-covered funnel cake.
09 - Serve immediately and enjoy!

# Notes:

01 - Be careful when frying; the oil should be hot but not smoking. If the oil is too hot, the funnel cake may burn.
02 - You can substitute chocolate chips with chocolate chunks or any other favorite topping.
03 - For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg to the batter.
