Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl. Create a well in the center.

Add melted butter, egg, vanilla, and milk into the well. Slowly whisk until smooth. Set aside.

Melt a small amount of butter in a nonstick pan over low-medium heat. Pour less than ¼ cup of batter onto the pan and spread gently with a ladle.

Drop chocolate chips or buttons onto the center of the batter and pour a small amount of batter over the top to cover completely.

Cook until the underside is golden, then gently flip and cook until the other side is golden. Repeat with remaining batter and chocolate chips.

Mix cinnamon and sugar in a shallow dish. Once the pancakes are warm, place each pancake in the mixture to coat both sides evenly.
