01 -
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat for easy cleanup.
02 -
Set up a breading station with three bowls: the first for flour mixed with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika (if using); the second for beaten eggs; and the third for panko breadcrumbs.
03 -
Dip each chicken piece into the flour mixture, then into the beaten eggs, and finally coat evenly with panko breadcrumbs. Press gently to ensure breadcrumbs stick.
04 -
Place the coated chicken pieces onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature reaches 165°F or 74°C).
05 -
While the chicken bakes, combine honey, hot sauce, unsalted butter, red pepper flakes (if using), and apple cider vinegar or lemon juice (if using) in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir until melted and smooth.
06 -
Remove the chicken from the oven and brush generously with the hot honey sauce, or serve the sauce on the side for dipping.
07 -
Sprinkle the chicken with chopped parsley and, if desired, sesame seeds or crushed peanuts. Serve immediately.
